tEA in partnership with North Eastern Regional Agricultural Marketing Corporation (NERAMAC) Limited and North East Center for Technology Application and Reach (NECTAR) is promoting 28 FPOs under the scheme “Formation and Promotion of 10,000 Farmers’ Producer Organisation (FPO)” in 28 blocks across Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland.

IN THE NEXT 5 YEARS, WE WANT TO DEVELOP ADDITIONAL 50 FPOs FOR VARIOUS CASH CROPS WORKING WITH AT LEAST 20000 FARMERS IN NAGALAND AND MANIPUR STATES FOR ENHANCED LIVELIHOODS AND VIBRANT AGRICULTURE.
The Entrepreneurs Associates (tEA) has been working with farmers across the region since its inception in 2000. With the vast experience of working with farmers for over 2 decades, and to empower the farming community in this mainly agrarian region tEA is mobilising and forming FPOs and FPCs across Nagaland.
THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PROJECT:
- To develop organic value chain and address gaps in production, harvesting, handling and marketing of organic agricultural products with necessary infrastructural, technical and financial support.
- To enable farmers to replace conventional farming/subsistence farming system with high value commercial organic enterprise in specific crops
- To facilitate partnerships between farmers and organic businesses [Local enterprises and/ or Farmer Producer Companies (FPC)] in domestic and export markets.
- To develop certified organic production linking growers with consumers and to support collection, aggregation, processing, marketing and brand building initiations.
EXPECTED OUTCOMES: This will build a prosperous and sustainable agriculture sector by promoting farmer/member-owned Producer Organizations/company, that enable farmers to enhance productivity through efficient, cost-effective and sustainable resource use and realize higher returns of their produce. It also aims to create organic value chain ecosystem which is sustainably run by the farmers themselves who arethe shareholders of the company.
